The Hofstad Box is a gift box composed entirely in The Hague. Inside you'll find the work of Van Kleef, Yespers, Mitsuba, Seepje. Instead of an anonymous bulk hamper, you're giving colleagues and clients a gift with a story from the Netherlands' court city.
The Hofstad Box takes its name from The Hague's own nickname: the 'Hofstad', or court city. Ever since the counts of Holland set up their court beside the Hofvijver pond in the thirteenth century — the later Binnenhof — The Hague has been the city of the court and of government. For centuries it remained a village without city rights, yet grew into the seat of government all the same: that very mix of stately and headstrong is what this box is about.
